The greatest gift God has given us to live victorious lives is the Holy Spirit! Sadly many christians go through life without ever fully tapping into the power God has given us through the Holy Spirit. My intent is to shed some light on this subject and hopefully challenge you to tap into the power of the Holy Spirit that God has blessed you with!

Upon asking Jesus Christ (with a sincere heart) to forgive you of your sin and to come into your life and be your Lord and Savior, you are forgiven your sins and the Holy Spirit enters you sealing your redemption:

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:13-14

If you have ever been in a conversation with someone in which you are trying to point out sin according to Old Testament Law (such as homosexuality), then you have probably had the argument come up that if we have to keep one Old Testament Law then we have to keep them all.

That brings up a good question! How does the Old Testament Law apply to us now that we are in the age of grace? First it is important to understand that the people under Old Testament Law were under the law because they had made a covenant with God. A “Covenant” is an agreement between two parties who agree to certain terms and conditions that each side must abide by or the agreement is not binding. In a covenant among humans the two sides can bargain on the terms and conditions but in a covenant with God, God alone decides the conditions and blessings. Humans cannot change God’s covenant, but they can choose to accept or reject it.

That is a question many have asked. The answer is simple. He doesn’t! God is simply the means by which you get there. Let me explain.

Imagine this…..you are on a boat in the middle of the ocean and it sank. You and the other people on the boat with you are now looking at certain death by drowning. You have already gone under the water twice, you are losing your strength and are on the verge of going under for the third and final time when all of a sudden a ship comes. The crewmembers began to throw out lifelines and the people with you are grabbing hold of them and are being brought aboard the ship and (more…)
